Video Limitation #4: Video is often Perceived as Entertainment in the Workplace

While video is an excellent method to deliver training and informative content to users, it is often seen as an entertainment medium. If users are reading text on their monitor, supervisors and fellow employees may assume that they are researching information needed for their job. Video, however, raises a concern that the employee is goofing-off on company time.

It doesn’t matter if the video is legitimate, employees working in open cubicles may be reluctant to spend time watching your content, knowing that others who observe them watching videos may assume they are wasting time on silly cat videos.

You should offer video content to entice viewers and promote your brand. I suggest you add text versions for those who might not want to be seen watching video clips on company time.
